Casey S. Ward, MD

This Halloween costume will soon become reality... last night we received a fantastic phone call from Loma Linda University where Casey was ACCEPTED INTO MEDICAL SCHOOL! After Casey hung up the phone we screamed like giddy children and ran around our condo like crazy people. An incredible adventure is before us... To my husband, my lover, my confidant, my best friend... congratulations to you. Your perseverance and faithfulness in pursuing this dream has been inspirational to witness. What a wonderful physician you will be. We give all praise, honor, and glory to our God, and continue to trust in Him for guidance and wisdom as we set out on this journey. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all of you... you who have lifted us up in prayer and encouraged us for so long while traveling on this path. We humbly give thanks.

We hope to move to Loma Linda in July, so may we suggest that you all begin shopping for airline tickets now so that we will have a steady stream of visitors lined up in anticipation of a little home sickness... (my hints are not so subtle).

Thank you again, for your support and faith in Casey's dreams. It means more than I can express. Love to you all...

Girls' Weekend in Leavenworth

Nothing like a great PBR on a mountain top (or hill top)

A huge thank you to my wonderful friends... friends who are so true that you know you can always be your raw self when in their company, for better or for worse. Thank you, friends, for laughter, for adventures, for making wonderful memories. I love you all and could not be more grateful for each of you.

Winter Wonder

"All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" --which means, "God with us." Matthew 1:22-23

What a wonderful Christmas season it was, giving thanks to the King for sending us our Saviour. Casey and I were blessed to be able to spend time with all four of our parents and one brother, Matthew. Lukey was the only missing piece as he has new responsibilities in Vail, CO working on the mountain. We missed you, buddy, and are already looking forward to our Christmas together next year.

Seeing that pictures often describe adventures better than I ever could with words, here are a few to show you what we've been up to the past few weeks...

Christmas morning in Ione...

Farmer Matt

True country boys.

That's right. I ride dirt bikes. (Or at least on the back of one while Matt drove)

Christmas morning... very awake and very fresh, as you can see.

Ward men love each other.

Our early Christmas celebration with Mom and Dad in Seattle before our trip to Ione

I think I formed a bruise when I fell off the sled...

Casey and a few of his Young Life kids... Saturday sledding

Jingle Bell Dash with Shauna

And now we return to work, cleaning house and paying bills... praying that the awe we feel inside regarding Christ's birth will not fade, but rather grow with each day.
